Missions of the organisation:
OAED is the main instrument for the application of the government's employment policy. It aims to provide the necessary conditions to achieve a rapid matching of the supply of labour with demand, in harmony with the programme of economic development in force in the country. More particularly, the mission of OAED is implemented in the following areas of activity:

  • the professional guidance of manpower,
  • technical and professional training of manpower,
  • the granting of benefits.
    (unemployment benefit, military service benefit, maternity and family income supplements)
The efforts made by the organisation to achieve modernisation by extending its services to cover society as a whole are structured around:
  • the promotion of new institutional measures,
  • the modernisation of the structure and operation of the services of the organisation,
  • the improvement of its training and educational structures,
  • the adaptation and development of its staff enabling them to cope effectively with the changing conditions and demands of the market.

Target public:
People aged 16-45 years seeking employment.

Aim:
Those who complete courses at the training centres of OAED receive specialisation diplomas. These diplomas are equivalent to the corresponding diplomas of the technical schools of the Ministry of Education.
The diplomas of those who have completed accelerated training are not organised into a hierarchy. The professional rights of holders of diplomas are defined by presidential decrees issued by the relevant ministries.
