Regarding mobility of students, it seems that there are many cases in which people are facing "barriers" to go abroad. The main barriers we have experienced in the EVTA network are the following:

- the lack of workplacements abroad;

- quality assurance;

- language barriers;

- cultural aspects;

The objective of the EU-move project is to provide a European mobility portal for vocational training, offering the following services:

- an online environment with digital workplaces to communicate with each other (LLL portal);

- a data base with workplacements abroad (now known as "CERTICOM": www.hoteltrainees.com );

- expanded with vocational language profiles (TRANSVALP);

- expanded with intercultural aspects (INTENT);

- expanded for other sectors, besides the hospitality sector: trade and care.

The project delivered a EU mobility portal for VET with a database of workplacements for the hospitality and trade sector, including tools and competences for intercultural awareness and vocationally oriented language learning and tools for the mentor in the workplacement company to organise the workplacements, to guide the trainee and to evaluate the workplacement.

The mobility portal is supported by the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework.
