ECVET aims to facilitate the validation, recognition and accumulation of work-related skills and knowledge acquired during a stay in another country or in different situations. It should ensure that these experiences contribute to vocational qualifications. ECVET aims for better compatibility between the different vocational education and training systems in Europe and their qualifications.

By 2012, a technical framework to describe qualifications in terms of units of learning outcomes, including assessment, transfer, accumulation and recognition procedures has to be available. The European Commission is developing an ECVET users' guide, and has established a European ECVET users' group and a European ECVET network. more.

The objective of the establishment of the ECVET network, the users group and the users guide is to promote the implementation of ECVET in the member states by 2014.

The ECVET Network will be open for subscription from 01/09/2010 via the website of the ECVET Network. All organisations working on/ interested in ECVET can become member.
 

The ECVET Network is supported by the supporting team: the ECVET Network secretariat.

EVTA is taking part in the Scientific Commitee of the ECVET Network Secretariat (advisory committee).
