Missions of the organisation:
The aim of the Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus is
to create the prerequisites for the planned and systematic training
and development of Cyprus's human resources, at all levels and in
all sectors, for meeting the economy's needs, within the overall
national socio-economic policies.
The HRDA is a semi-government organisation and the national agency
for human resource development, responsible for the assessment of
the economy's needs with respect to human resource development,
for setting priorities with respect to meeting these needs, and
for planning, promoting and co-ordinating activities so as to ensure
that these needs are met; also for dividing training costs more
equitably amongst employers.

Target public:
All employees in enterprises in the private sector, from top managers
to unskilled workers, can participate in training courses approved
of and subsidised by the HRDA and implemented by public and private
training institutions. All employers, exempting the government in
its capacity as an employer, pay a training levy, at present at
0,5% of their payroll, to the Human Resource Development Fund operated
by the HRDA.
