Significant numbers of employers questioned said that the ability to work well in a team (98%), to adapt to new situations (97%), communication skills (96%), and knowledge of foreign languages (67%) were important when recruiting for their companies. Almost 50% of companies with considerable international business identified knowledge of foreign languages as the most important skill for the future.

EU now has Sport Council
On September 16, the European Council changed the name of the Council in charge of Education, Youth and Culture. Officially the Council is now called, the Education, Youth, Culture - including Audiovisual Affairs - and Sport Council.
Sport was discussed for the first time by the Education, Youth and Culture Council, meeting in Brussels on 10- 11 May 2010. Changes under the Lisbon Treaty allow the EU to "contribute" to the promotion of European sporting issues, notably promoting fairness and openness in competitions and protecting the physical and moral integrity of sports people.
The next Sport Council takes place on 18-19 November 2010. Sports topics include a Commission communication on future EU action in the field, "structured" dialogue with the sports movement as well as social inclusion in and through sport.

All stakeholders involved in the matter are now invited to participate to ‘describe their expectations towards ESCO and their envisaged level of co-operation in the ESCO project’, through an online questionnaire.
