This course is a basic and pragmatic Guide to Professional Virtual Communities Management and Animation.
Course Description
The combination of technological development and the strategic importance of the access to knowledge, has been the driver that, from the mid-1980s onwards, has led to the birth and the development of virtual communities.
This course examines the central features of the Professional Virtual Communities as significant entities, that acquire the 'right' to exist in cyberspace, despite the fact they do not occupy a physical space.
We will explore the main strategies to start-up a VC, to support and manage it, to animate and monitor the partecipants interactions and communications.
Emphasis is placed upon developing a Virtual Community of Practice which has been adopted as a paradigmatic model.
